in 1998, German producers and composers Christopher von Deylen and Mirko von Schlieffen launched the Schiller project in Hamburg. The two derive the name from the famous German playwright and lyricist Friedrich Schiller. Musically, Schiller are active in the fields of ambient, pop and new age. Schiller celebrated their breakthrough in 2001 with the song "Dream of You". In 2003, Schiller scored another hit with "Leben ... I Feel You" (2003). Wolfsheim singer Peter Heppner takes over the vocal part. Mirko von Schlieffen then leaves the project. Christopher von Deylen continues on his own. Schiller releases further top hits with the singles "Time for Dreams" (2008 together with Lang Lang) "You" (2008 together with Colbie Caillat) and "Sonne" (2012 together with Unheilig). With the albums Weltreise (2001), Sehnsucht (2008), Sonne (2012), Opus (2012), Future (2016) and Morgenstund (2019), Schiller regularly reached number 1 in the German charts. The follow-up Summer in Berlin is also a number 1 hit in 2021. In the same year, Schiller released another album, Epic. This is followed in March 2023 by Illuminate, the 14th studio album and another number 1 in Germany. In 2001 and 2002, Schiller wins the German music award Echo Pop in the Dance/Techno Artist and National Group categories for his music. Another Schiller album follows in February 2024 with Tag und Nacht. The longplayer reaches number 27 in Germany.
