SDP

SDP is a German duo from Berlin. The band consists of Vincent Stein and Dag-Alexis Kopplin. The abbreviation SDP stands for Stonedeafproduction. The two artists started releasing their first songs under this name in 1999. Their music cannot be clearly categorized stylistically. Their songs contain elements of pop, rock, hip-hop and reggae. SDP initially released a few demo songs before their debut album Räuberpistolen was released in 2004. SDP's first commercial breakthrough came with the support of German rapper Sido on the single "Ne Leiche" in 2010. SDP made it into the German charts for the first time in 2012 with the album Die Bekannteste Unbekannte Band Der Welt at number 51. The follow-up albums Bunte Rapublik Deutschpunk (2014), Zurück In Die Zukunst (2015) and Die Bunte Seite Der Macht (2017) all reached top positions in the German charts. The album Die unendlichste Geschichte brings SDP its first number 1 position in the charts. SDP's most successful songs include "Ich Will Nur Dass Du Weißt" together with Adel Tawil, "So Schön Kaputt" and "Viva La Dealer" together with Capital Bra. In 2021, SDP released the single "Not Lonely" together with the band Gestört Aber Geil . SDP continues to work with other well-known artists, including Prinz Pi, Nico Santos and Bela B. from the band Die Ärzte. In 2022, SDP achieved another number 1 success in the German charts with the album Ein gutes schlechtes Vorbild. The song "Die schönsten Tage" (together with Clueso) becomes a minor hit in Germany and Austria in the same year. In spring 2024, the duo returned to the charts with the song "Mama hat gesagt" (together with Esther Graf and Sido). The song climbed to number 3 in Germany and the single also heralded the release of the album Best Of - 25 Years of SDP in October 2024. The album with the band's best songs once again tops the charts in Germany. In Austria, the album climbs to number 10 and reaches number 21 in Switzerland.
