Senhit

Senhit Zadik Zadik, better known by the mononym Senhit, is an Italian pop vocalist whose career encompasses stage musicals, bilingual pop albums, and two appearances at the Eurovision Song Contest. Born in Bologna on October 1, 1979, she was raised by Eritrean parents and initially worked as a musical theater actress, starring in productions in Switzerland and Germany before returning home in 2002 to launch her music career. Her self-titled debut album, Senit, was released in Italy four years later, featuring the single "La mia città è cambiata." Un tesoro è necessariamente nascosto followed in 2007, with So High — her first English-language album — arriving in 2009. Two years later, Senhit represented San Marino in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with "Stand By," a song written by Radiosa Romani. Although the song failed to qualify for the Eurovision finals, it nonetheless expanded Senhit's popularity throughout the continent, and she released a number of international, non-album singles during the three years that followed. The Hey Buddy EP was released, spawning the singles "Something on Your Mind" and "Higher." Senhit then released another string of non-album singles, one of which — 2020's "Freaky!" — was chosen to represent San Marino in that year's Eurovision Song Contest. Although the Covid-19 pandemic forced the contest's cancellation, Senhit participated in Eurovision's 2021 installment with a follow-up single, "Adrenalina." Featuring vocals from American hip-hop artist Flo Rida, the song became a Top 40 hit in Belgium, Lithuania, and Iceland.
