Eden Alene (May 7, 2000) is an Israeli singer who jumped to stardom in 2021 by representing Israel at the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Born in Jerusalem to Ethiopian Jewish parents, she first gained notoriety as the winner of the third season of talent show The X Factor in 2017. Her debut single “Better” saw the light in 2018 and quickly entered the Israeli Top 10. Eden Alene followed up in 2019 with the single “When It Comes to You” and “Save Your Kisses for Me,” a cover of the Brotherhood of Man song that won Eurovision in 1976. That same year, she was crowned winner of the singing competition Rising Star (HaKokhav HaBa), which earned her the chance to represent her country at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Feker Libi.” Despite the event’s cancellation due to the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, the track was later released as a single and reached Number 3 on Israel’s Media Forest charts. In 2021, Eden Alene finally made her Eurovision debut with the track “Set Me Free,” making it to the finals and finishing in 17h place. “Set Me Free” went to Number 3 in Israel and entered the charts in the Netherlands, Sweden, and the UK. Other 2021 singles included “Ue La La” and “La La Love.”
