Born in Dublin, Ireland, Shane Codd (1994) is a DJ and producer who scored a breakthrough hit with his 2020 single "Get Out My Head." Now signed to Polydor, the Bailieborough-based artist was in the middle of a business studies course at Dublin City University when he found himself suddenly thrust into the spotlight. Released in May 2020, and featuring vocals from Solah, "Get Out My Head," was written during the first COVID-19 lockdown and initially launched via SoundCloud. The track was soon snapped up by Polydor Records and soared through the charts, peaking at Number five on the Irish Singles Chart and Number six on the UK Singles Chart. It also shot to Number two on The Official Big Top 40 and in December topped the Music Moves Europe Talent Chart, where it stuck around for three weeks. In February 2021, two fresh remixes of "Get Out My Head" emerged: one featuring UK rappers Swarmz and S1mba and the other from the prestigious hand of US dance legend Todd Terry. That same year, Shane Codd joined forces with Charlotte Haining for the peak-time dance-pop tune, "Always On My Mind," which went to Number 91 in Ireland. He also dropped another original single in 2021, "It Ain't Right," which reached Number 76 in Ireland, as well notching up a run of four remixes that included "Astronaut in the Ocean" by Masked Wolf. In October 2021, he also remixed "Love (Sweet Love)" by Little Mix.
