Born Shari Noioso on 14 October 2002 in Monfalcone, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, northern Italy, the Italian singer known mononymously as Shari developed an ear for music at an early age, enrolling as a student at Italy's Groove Factory Academy aged 10 and later showcasing her skills in the second edition of Italian talent show Tú sí que vales on Canale 5, where she performed during the final but didn't quite make the cut. In spite of this, her performance led to a record deal with Warner Music and in 2016 she released covers of John Lennon's "Imagine" and "The Sound of Silence" by Simon & Garfunkel before dropping her official debut single "Don't You Run" that same year. Her next single came three years later, "Stella," while that same year she teamed up with Benji & Fede on the gold-certified "Sale," followed by a collaboration with rapper Salmo on another gold-certified single, "L'angelo caduto," as well as releasing her own "Follia" in 2021. She signed to Columbia Records in July 2022 and released her first EP for the label, the soul-influenced Fake Music, followed by her debut album Fuck Music. In 2023, her "Egoista" single went to number 38 in Italy and was chosen as her entry for the Sanremo Music Festival 2023.
