The singer and actor Show Lo was born Luó Zhìxiáng on July 30, 1979 in Keelung, Taiwan. The son of two entertainers, he began playing drums at shows his parents organized. During middle school, he joined a street dance troupe and participated in several competitions before making his debut with the boy group Four Heavenly Kings in 1996. Following the band’s breakup in 1998, he performed as a duo with Ou Di under the name Romeo. After a lawsuit stalled his singing career, Show Lo achieved fame as a host for several variety shows and made his acting debut on the idol drama Hi Working Girl. In 2003, he signed to the label Avex Taiwan and officially launched his solo career with the album Show Time, selling over 800,000 copies. Follow-up albums Expert Show (2004), Hypnosis Show (2005), SPESHOW (2006), and Show Your Dance (2007) fared just as well, becoming some of the best-selling releases in Taiwan. A few years later, Show Lo successfully crossed over into the competitive Japanese market with the single “Dante,” which cracked the Top 5 of the Oricon charts, and teamed up with label Gold Typhoon, issuing a series of blockbuster releases that enjoyed great commercial success in his native Taiwan, including Trendy Man (2008), Rashomon (2010), Only for You (2011), and 9ood Show (2012). Subsequently, he followed up with the albums Lion Roar (2013), Reality Show? (2015), and No Idea (2019), all of which sold units by the hundreds of thousands. In 2021, Show Lo returned with the single “Trap Game,” which entered Hong Kong’s Top 50 at Number 33.
