Wilber Pan, also known as Will Pan, is a Taiwanese-American singer-songwriter, rapper, and actor born on August 6, 1980, in West Virginia, United States. At the age of seven, he moved to Taiwan where he attended Dominican International School and Taipei American School, graduating in 1999. After turning down an athletic scholarship for basketball, he opted to attend California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, but left before completing his degree to pursue a career in entertainment. In 1999, Will Pan gained attention by participating in the BCC Star singing contest. This led to an opportunity to audition for Channel V's program in Hong Kong. By 2001, he had signed with BMG, hosting a show called V Style Society and acting in the Taiwanese drama Great Teacher. He released his debut album, Gecko Stroll, in 2002, selling over 130,000 copies in Taiwan alone. His sophomore effort, Pass Me the Mic, came out in 2003. This was followed by his third album Wu Ha in 2004, featuring hits like "Adoration to Happiness" and "Letting You Go." He continued to produce albums yearly, including The Expert in 2005 and Around the World in 2006. Over the following years, he kicked off an impressive run of commercially successful albums that dominated the Taiwanese charts, including Play It Cool (2007), 007 (2009), 808 (2011), The Story of Billy (2012), and Crown & Clown (2014). He released his twelfth studio album Mr. R&Beats in 2020. In 2023, he returned with the tender ballad "梅雨季," which entered KKbox's Top 50 Mandarin Singles chart at Number 14.
