Shoya Chiba

Best known as a voice actor for numerous anime projects, Shōya Chiba – born in Tokyo, Japan on August 29, 1995 – has also sung many songs for anime soundtracks as well as releasing his own solo recordings. He began his career as a child actor but after several years, chose to pursue voice acting thanks to his interest in music and anime. Although he had done a few voice actor projects earlier in his career, his work with higher profile anime projects picked up after signing with the Sigma Seven e talent agency in 2014. He provided dramatic speaking voices but also sang songs for shows beginning in 2015 including several series of THE IDOLM@STER SideM, Beyond the Dream, Break it Down, Phantom of Love, Muteki*Dangerous, Climax*Emotion, Animals Parade, Noble Recollections 02, Good Liar, Supernova, Visual Prison, Utopia of Fantasy / Dystopia of Peace, and many more. Shōya Chiba also provided narration for TV programs as well as working on digital comics, radio, television commercials, and stage productions. He took a short leave of absence from his voice over work to have surgery to remove nodules on his vocal cords but was back working a month later. He left his talent agency in January 2023 and signed with Toy’s Factory. Later that year, he released the “Youthful Place” single, which was followed by his debut EP, Blessing, in January 2024.
