Solange Almeida, born in Alagoinhas, Bahia on August 29, 1974, built a remarkable career in forró, first gaining national recognition as the lead vocalist of Aviões do Forró, where she spent 14 years alongside Xand Avião. Before joining the group in 2002, she performed with several bands, including Cavaleiros do Forró and Caviar com Rapadura. With Aviões, she became the voice behind hits like "Não Quero Me Amarrar," "Chupa que é de Uva," and "Mulher não Trai, Mulher Se Vinga," cementing her place in Brazilian music. In 2017, she launched her solo career with Sentimento de Mulher, which earned a Latin Grammy nomination. She followed up with Entre Nós, Minha História (2018), revisiting her past hits, and Sol e Mar (2020), a collaborative album with Márcia Fellipe. Known for her powerful vocals and versatility, she expanded her repertoire with gospel influences and television appearances. In 2024, she released Ao Vivo em Aracaju, further solidifying her solo trajectory. Beyond music, she has represented major brands like Coca-Cola and Yamaha and received honors for her contributions to Brazilian culture.
