Sonar Pocket

Founded in 2005, Sonar Pocket, also known as SonaPoke, is a Japanese trio from Nagoya City, Japan, consisting of Japanese singers; ko-dai, eyeron and track maker DJ Matty. Wanting to create songs that listeners could keep close to their hearts, the trio made their major debut in 2008 with “Promise” from their first studio album ソナポケイズム①~幸せのカタチ~ (Sonapokeism ① ~Shape of Happiness~) which ranked in the top 20, however it was after their recording “Anata no Uta (あなたのうた ; Your Song)” was used for a pharmaceutical commercial that the group gained major recognition, seeing second album Sonapokeism ② ~Anata no Uta~ (ソナポケイズム②~あなたのうた~) debut at number 10, with digital single "Suki da yo. ~100-kai no Koukai~" charting at number 1 for nine consecutive weeks. Their next album Sonapokeism ③ ~Kimi to no 365 Nichi~ (ソナポケイズム③~君との365日~) proved to be a major hit, debuting at number 2, with enthusiastic fans of the trio setting a Guinness World Record for singing “Anata no Uta” for three minutes straight during the 2012 Oricon Sound Blowin festival. After releasing two further albums, the group embarked on their first major tour in 2015, performing to over 80,000 attendees, following this with Sonapokeism ⑥ ~Ai wo Komete Okuru Uta~ (ソナポケイズム⑥ ~愛をこめて贈る歌~) (2016), ranking in the top 5. In 2017, Sonar Pocket signed to Warner Music Japan, releasing seventh album flower to coincide with their ten-year anniversary. Collaborating with K-pop group GFriend in 2019, they released their 32nd single “Oh Difficult”, debuting at number 10 on the singles chart and eighth album 80億分の1~to you~ (1 in 8 Billion ~to you~) in 2021. In late 2022, Sonar Pocket released “I Mean, All the Time (っていうか、ずっとね)" and “Firework (花火)”; coinciding with the announcement of their 2023 fan meet-and-greet tour.
