Canadian rapper Kevin Saint-Laurent, better known as Souldia, was born in Quebec City on May 24, 1985. He grew up in the Maizerets district of Limoilou, and switched from delinquency to rap after a stint in prison. His musical career began in the early 2000s with the group Mafia 03, then Collectif 187, where he rubbed shoulders with future collaborators such as Die-On. In 2009, he released his debut album Art Kontrol, the first of a long series including Les Origines du Mal (2012), Krime Grave (2014), Sacrifice (2016) and Ad Vitam Æternam (2017), not forgetting the mixtape Amsterdam (2016) and the trilogy Les Archives. Now a professional, Souldia achieves recognition with the album Survivant (2018), which, in addition to its success on social networks, earns two nominations at the ADISQ gala. One of the stars of the Francofolies de Montréal, who released L'Album Noir (2018) in the wake of this success, leaves the Explicit label to re-emerge on Disques 7ième Ciel with the albums Backstage (2019), Silence Radio (2020), Off in collaboration with Tizzo (2020), Dixque d'Art (2021), Non Conventionnel (2023) including the hit "Le Vide", then Portrait Robot with Lost (2024) and Nouvelle Vie (2024).
