Spice

Known as the "Queen of Dancehall," Grace Latoya Hamilton (August 6, 1982) is a Jamaican singer-songwriter and DJ who performs under the name Spice. Born in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, she began singing at her local church and spent part of her childhood living with her grandparents in Finsbury Park, London. Upon her return to Jamaica, she enrolled at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts to study music and drama. Following her live debut at the Sting festival in 2000, Spice embarked on a UK tour and caught the attention of fellow singer Baby Cham, who connected her with producer Dave Kelly. Even though she released her debut single "Complain" in 2003, it wasn't until 2009 that she finally broke into the mainstream through a feature on Vybz Kartel's sexually explicit "Romping Shop." In 2014, her first EP So Mi Like It peaked at Number 14 on the US reggae charts. Four years later, she reached the top of the said chart with the mixtape Captured and its lead single "Black Hypocrisy." During this time, she also joined the cast of the reality show Love Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta. After many years of sticking to the single format, Spice finally delivered her highly anticipated studio debut 10 in 2021. Preceded by the streaming hit single "Go Down Deh" with Sean Paul and Shaggy, the album climbed to Number 6 on Billboard's Reggae Albums Chart and received a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album.
