Spyair

The Japanese rock band Spyair is best known for Top 40 hits like "Samurai Heart (Some Like It Hot!!)," "Imagination," and "This Is How We Rock." The group formed in Nagoya in 2005. Guitarist UZ, bass player Momiken, drummer Kenta, and vocalist Ike debuted their band in 2008 with Alive, then climbed to number 11 on two Japanese charts — Billboard Japan and Oricon Albums — with their second release, Rockin' the World, in 2011. The album featured "Samurai Heart (Some Like It Hot!!)," a platinum-selling song that became the band's first Top 20 hit on the Japanese singles charts. Just Do It returned the group to number 20 in 2012. Over the next five years, the group maintained a similar level of success by reaching the Top 10 in Japan with four consecutive albums: 2013's Million, 2014's Best, 2015's 4, and 2017's Kingdom. Hits like "I'm a Believer," "Rage of Dust," and "Genjō Destruction" all went gold, as well. Although 2021's Unite was a commercial disappointment by Spyair's usual standards, the group returned to the charts with 2024's Orange, a comeback EP that peaked at number 12 on the Oricon album chart. Orange's title track was a hit, too, reaching number 8 on Japan's Top 100 Singles Billboard chart.
