Stephanie Economou is a composer and violinist. She was born in Long Island, New York, but later relocated Los Angeles, California, after graduating college. Stephanie Economou received her Bachelor's degree in Composition from the New England Conservatory of Music and her Master's in Composition for Visual Media from the University of California Los Angeles. She was selected as one of six fellows for the Sundance Institute Composers Lab at Skywalker Ranch in 2015 and participated in the 2018 NBC/Universal Composers Initiative. Ever since the beginning of her recording career, she has earned acclaim for her unique compositional style, which blends electronic and acoustic sounds. She has applied this style to the composition of music for several successful film, TV, and video game projects. This includes the Netflix series Jupiter’s Legacy (for which she was awarded the SCL David Raskin Award for Emerging Talent), the Disney+ series Marvel’s 616, and the documentary feature More Than Robots. She has also collaborated with Golden Globe nominated composer Harry Gregson-Williams in film scores for Mulan, The Martian, and Live by Night. In 2022, she composed music for the video game Assassin's Creed: Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök, which made history by winning the first-ever Grammy award in the video game category.
