Brazilian pagode singer Maxwell Alves Silva, better known by his stage name Suel, began his career in 2002 as the frontman of the group Imaginasamba, where he co-wrote hits like "Ainda é cedo pra dizer bye bye" and "Pára de pirraça." After briefly leaving the group in 2005 and releasing his self-titled debut album, he returned the following year but eventually departed for good in 2018 to focus on his solo journey. In 2019, he released his second full-length Status under Warner Music, featuring collaborations with Mumuzinho, Ferrugem, and Luísa Sonza. During the pandemic, he recorded the live DVD Live Suel – De volta para 2002 without an audience. In 2022, he followed up with Close Friends Ao Vivo, an album packed with new tracks and guest appearances from Sorriso Maroto and Turma do Pagode. Over the next few years, Suel released Fases in 2023, recorded live in Rio de Janeiro, and featuring standout collaborations with Tierry and Ferrugem, further cementing his place in the pagode scene. 2024 saw the release of the live LP Pôr do Suel Em Recife - Partes 1 & 2, which featured the popular single "Vitamina C."
