Sunny Sweeney is an American country singer-songwriter and comedian. Born in Texas, Sweeney put out her first album in 2006 before signing to Scott Borchetta and Toby Keith's Big Machine Records. She released her first album, 'Heartbreaker's Hall of Fame', on Big Machine in 2007, as well as three singles from that record. She then parted company with the label in 2009 and signed to Republic Nashville. In 2010, the first single she released with her new label, 'From a Table Away', was featured on the album 'Concrete', which arrived in the same year and went into the top ten of Billboard's Country chart. Her next albums, however, 'Provoked' (2014) and 'Trophy' (2017), were put out by the Aunt Daddy Record label. Since leaving the Big Machine group and, especially on her latter two albums 'Provoked' and 'Trophy', her music uses classic country and western instrumentation to address difficult issues such as alcoholism, divorce, suicide and fertility issues. Since 2017, Sweeney has been an independent musician touring widely.
