Susan Aho, born on March 5, 1974, in Espoo, Finland, is a Finnish folk singer and songwriter. She joined the renowned folk band Värttinä in 1998 as an accordionist and vocalist on Vihma. By 2001's Ilmatar, she focused solely on singing, with Markku Lepistö taking over the accordion. Aho studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki and contributed to various folk music projects, including the Greek group Odysseia, Metsänväki, and the Balkan-Finnish ensemble Vaeltajat. She also performed Finnish gypsy songs with Rotunaiset. In 2008, Aho co-founded the duo Kuunkuiskaajat with Johanna Virtanen, representing Finland in Eurovision 2010 with Työlki ellää. Although they didn’t qualify for the final, Aho later announced Finland's points at Eurovision 2011. Additionally, she collaborates with the Sampo Puppet Theatre, blending music and traditional puppetry. Her discography spans multiple albums with Värttinä and Kuunkuiskaajat, solidifying her influence in Finnish folk music.
