Taegoon

Taegoon is a South Korean pop singer and dancer known for his R&B and hip-hop-influenced music. He was born Kim Tae Goon on January 17, 1986, in Gongju, Chungnam. He became involved with music and dance at a very young age, leading him to attend an arts-oriented high school and major in Dance at Korea National University of Arts. He dropped out to pursue a singing career, first gaining public attention as a finalist on the talent show Battle Shinhwa in 2005. After years of auditions, Taegoon debuted with Logi Entertainment in January 2009. His first mini album, titled 1st Mini Album (2009), was released the same month. He performed the lead single, "Call Me," on MBC's Show! Music Core. This debut brought numerous endorsement offers, including a modeling deal with EXR's Dressed to Kill clothing brand. Later that same year, he released his second mini album, Rising Star (2009), featuring the single "Superstar," which achieved similar success to his debut. He expanded his fanbase to Japan with a fan meeting and concert in Tokyo in July 2009. He released The 3rd Mini Album in September 2009, promoting the single "Betrayed." In 2010, Taegoon began filming his first movie, Piano Above the Sea, which marked his acting debut.
