Marco Efraîn Masís, who goes by the name Tainy, is a Latin rap and reggaeton writer and producer from Puerto Rico who has released a great many tracks since his debut in 2005 on the Luny Tunes compilation Mas Flow 2. He has collaborated with a variety of acts, including Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Shakira. Mas Flow: Los Benjamins (2006) with Luny Tunes topped Billboard's Latin Rhythm Albums and Top Latin Albums charts, reached Number 9 on the Top Rap Albums chart, and Number 30 on the Billboard 200. He was a producer on Cardi B's "I Like It" featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin, which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 2018 and was nominated for a Grammy Award as Record of the Year. His 2019 track "I Can't Get Enough" with Benny Blanco, Selena Gomez, and J Balvin peaked at Number 14 on the Latin Pop Songs chart, Number 31 on the Mainstream Top 40 chart, and Number 37 on the Latin Airplay chart. "Callaita" with Bad Bunny went to Number 2 on the Latin Digital Song Sales chart and Number 8 on the Hot Latin Songs chart upon its release in June 2019. That year, Tainy teamed up with music executive Lex Borrero to found NEON16, a multifaceted music company that managed to strike a partnership deal with Interscope Records. This success was followed by the Yandel collaborative album Dynasty in 2021 and Data, his solo debut, in 2023. Around this time, Tainy received his first Grammy award for his involvement in Bad Bunny's Un Verano Sin Ti (2022), which was named Best Música Urbana Album.
