Takanori Nishikawa (born in Yasu, Japan), is a Japanese singer, songwriter and voice artist. After dropping out of high school to pursue a career in music, Nishikawa joined rock band Luis-Mary in 1990, rebranding himself in 1995 as T.M.Revolution (Takanori Makes Revolution, or TMR), releasing his debut with “Dokusai (Monopolize)” in May, 1996, followed by album Makes Revolution later in the year and November single "Heart of Sword (Yoake Mae)" which was used as the ending track for Rurouni Kenshin (anime series). Nishikawa’s 1997 album restoration LEVEL➝3 reached number 5 on the Oricon Charts, however it was the release of hit single “White Breath”, followed by his third album triple joker, which sold over two million copies that propelled him into the spotlight. In 2002, Nishikawa was invited to perform the opening song for Gundam SEED (anime series), with the track reaching number 2 on the Oricon charts. Nishikawa contributed a further six songs to the Mobile Suit Gundam SEED series, guest-starring as a minor character in each. Making his American debut in 2003 at the Okaton convention in Baltimore, Nishikawa was invited to record the credits theme for the Japanese theatrical release of Spider-Man 2 (film) before releasing his 21st single “Vestige” in August, 2005, his fourth number 1 hit. Since then, his songs “Crosswise” and “Flags” have been featured in Sengoku Basara (video game series) In 2008, Nishikawa recorded the theme song for Soul Eater (anime series), making appearances at the New York Anime Festival and New York Comic Con, and in 2013, collaborated with popular Japanese singer Nana Mizuki on the opening theme song to Valvrave the Liberator (anime series), resulting in a Best Collaboration award at the 55th Japan Record Awards. In March, 2019, Nishikawa released SINGularity, the first album under his own name, followed by SINGularity II on August 10, 2022.
