Takuya Kimura

Japanese actor, singer, and radio personality Takuya Kimura was born on November 13, 1972, in Tokyo, Japan. His career began in 1987 as a member of the boy band SMAP, formed by Johnny & Associates. SMAP became one of the best-selling boy bands in Asia, pushing Takuya Kimura into the limelight. Beyond music, he also had a successful acting career with roles in iconic TV dramas like Long Vacation (1996) and Hero (2001). He also made significant contributions to film, including Love and Honor (2006) and the voice of Howl in Studio Ghibli's Howl’s Moving Castle (2004). His career took a new turn after SMAP disbanded in 2016. In 2020, he launched his solo music career with the release of Go with the Flow (2020), an album that debuted at number 1 on the Oricon Albums Chart. The album featured collaborations with well-known artists like [ALEXANDROS], Superfly, and Love Psychedelico. Takuya Kimura then embarked on an extremely successful tour across Japan. In 2022, he released his follow-up album, Next Destination, which included collaborations with Tatsuro Yamashita. The album was similarly successful. In 2024, he released his third solo album See You There. He also gained recognition in the gaming world as Takayuki Yagami in the Judgment series.
