Tanzwut is a medieval rock band from Germany founded in 1997. The band was initially a side project of the German medieval rockers Corvus Corax. However, Tanzwut oriented itself more in the direction of Neue Deutsche Härte. The first four albums in particular, Tanzwut (1999), Labyrinth of the Senses (2000), Ihr Wolltet Spaß (2003) and Schattenreiter (2006), cater to this category with a mixture of electronics, heavy guitars and German lyrics. In 2010, Tanzwut and Corvus Corax went their separate ways. One year later, Tanzwut released Morus et diabolus, a purely acoustic medieval album. After that, Tanzwut remained true to medieval music. Also in 2011, the rockier medieval album Weiße Nächte is released. Tanzwut's popularity and success increased with the following albums. With the 2016 album Schreib es mit Blut, the medieval rockers made it to number 26 and thus into the top 30 of the German album charts. The longplayer Die Tanzwut Kehrt Zurück, released in 2021, even scraped into the top 10 of the charts at number 11. In 2023, Tanzwut celebrate their 25th anniversary on stage with the album Silberne Hochzeit. The album contains some of the band's most popular songs in a new musical guise. In August 2024, Tanzwut release their 14th studio album, Achtung Mensch!
