Virgil René Gazca, born on February 2, 1999, is a Mexican-American rapper from Bay City, Texas. After facing considerable adversity in childhood, Gazca adopted the stage name That Mexican OT, short for Outta Texas and started recording hip-hop songs independently for online release after graduating from high school. He dropped several mixtapes in the early 2020s, like South Texas Project (2020), Southside Steppin (2021), 1 Double 0 (2021), and Nonsense and Mexican Shit (2022), gaining exposure through his own releases and remixes. His album Lonestar Luchador was released on July 28, 2023, under Good Money Global. The standout single "Johnny Dang," featuring Paul Wall and Drodi, hit number 65 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 19 on the US R&B charts. The album itself debuted at number 59 on the Billboard 200, featuring collaborations with various artists. Following on from his early success, That Mexican OT embarked on a 20-city tour across the United States in October 2023, dropping his second album, Texas Technician, in March 2024, which debuted at number 64 on the Billboard 200, preceded by the singles "02.02.99," "Point Em Out" (featuring DaBaby), and "Twisting Fingers" (featuring Moneybagg Yo).
