The Black Moods are a hard rock act weaned on a diet of dirty classic rock, blues and contemporary big rock in Tempe, Arizona. Singer and guitarist Joshua Kennedy originally found himself in Arizona as a tech for another band, but several years on the local music scene eventually led him to cross paths with bassist Jordan Hoffman and drummer Chico Diaz. The three of them set up as an old school guitar/bass/drums triple-act and set about recording, then extensively touring, their 2012 eponymous debut album. It was their second album, however, that helped them graduate from the regional bar circuit to the status of major label touring act. The band was picked up by Sony and recorded a follow-up for its Another Century label, the 2016 album 'Medicine'. More touring followed and stints with acts such as Jane's Addiction, Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, Shinedown and Everclear helped them to continue growing their fan base. The 2018 single 'Bella Donna' proved a Billboard Mainstream Rock Chart Top 40 hit, landing the band on national radio and further boosting their profile as 21st century heirs to the big names of dirty rock & roll.
