The Blaze is a Paris-based duo formed by cousins Guillaume Alric and Jonathan Alric. The two musicians and video makers had been working together on different projects since 2004 under the pseudonym Maÿd Hubb. They collaborated with other artists including Panda Dub before Jonathan left to study filmmaking. They resumed their musical collaboration when Jonathan – who was attending school in Brussels - asked Guillaume to work with him on the music video “Virile” in 2016. In 2017, they released the Territory EP, which featured the hit title track. The “Territory” video was viewed more than 45 million times. In 2018, they released the album Dancehall, which included the hit single “Heaven”. In 2019, the duo won the Victoire de la Musique Award for Best Electronic Music Album. The Blaze undertook an international tour that took them to Canada and the U.S., where they played the Coachella Festival. In 2020, they released the single “Somewhere”, a collaboration with Octavian.
