The Christians

The Christians are an English band made up mainly of the three Christian brothers, of Anglo-Jamaican descent. Formed in 1985 in Liverpool, The Christians established a soft pop-rock sound with soul influences. Their debut album The Christians (1987) reached number two in the UK, with five top-forty singles. Their biggest success came in France with "Words", which reached number one for several weeks in 1989. Following this, the album Colour topped the UK charts in 1990. In 1992, the album Happy in Hell marked a turning point. Garry Christian left the band in 1995. The break ended in 2003 with the release of Prodigal Sons. True to their original style, The Christians release one of their best albums with Speed of Life (2012).
