The Funeral Portrait

Splitting the difference between punk, alternative rock, and emo music, The Funeral Portrait is a five-piece act that formed in Atlanta, Georgia. Launched in 2014, the group endured several lineup changes before settling upon a lineup of frontman Lee Jennings, drummer Homer Umbanhower, bassist Robert Weston, and guitarists Cody Weissinger and Caleb Freihaut in 2019. An older roster released the band's debut EP, For The Dearly Departed, in 2014. Singles like "Meanwhile" and "The Crash" followed during the next several years, both released by an earlier incarnation of the band's roster. A Moment of Silence, the band's first full-length record, arrived in 2016. The Funeral Portrait continued to release standalone singles during the remainder of the 2010s, including 2018's "Flowers in the Attic," 2019's "Paper Mache Man," 2019's "Holy Water," and the 2020 holiday single "In the Bleak Midwinter." The singles continued during the subsequent decade, including "Voodoo Doll" (2022), "Alien" (2023), "Creep" (2023), "Generation Psycho" (2023), and "Dark Thoughts" (2023). An EP, Sounds From Beyond The Abyss (Vol. 1), was also released in 2023. One year later, the group teamed up with Ice Nine Kills for the collaborative single "Suffocate City," which hit number 37 on the Top 40 Radio Mainstream Rock Songs chart in America.
