Chinese indie rockers The LifeJourney formed in the city of Liuzhou in 1999. The group's original lineup consisted of lead singer Kong Yichan, guitarist Huang Zijun, and keyboardist Wei Wei, who released their debut single "The Story of Sun and I" in 2005. After signing with the label Modern Sky Records, The LifeJourney issued their critically acclaimed first studio album Life Journey in 2008, followed by the EP Waiting for Your Meal only a year later. Wonderful Day, their second LP, appeared in 2011 and was shortlisted for Taiwan's Golden Music Awards. Following the release of 2013's So I Stop Singing, The LifeJourney moved to the StreetVoice label and returned in 2016 with Always Be There, one of the most successful albums of their career. In 2019, the group gained national recognition after participating in the popular variety show The Big Band, which exposed them to a wider audience in their native China. They followed this success with the albums Similarly Far and Like You Like Me, both released in 2020.
