Formed in 2012 around Vickie Chérie and Leo Bear Creek, also drummer for Coming Soon, French electro-pop duo The Pirouettes made their mark in the synth-pop field under the benevolent eye of their mentor Étienne Daho, and enjoyed a standout debut track, "Dernier Métro", not unlike Rita Mitsouko's famous "Marcia Baila ", whose tune it succinctly covers. Occasionally, the duo cover major artists from the French repertoire, including France Gall with "Comment lui dire" and Yves Simon with "Qu'est-ce qu'on sera demain". In 2014, The Pirouettes released an EP entitled L'Importance des Autres, followed in 2015 by the single, "Je nous vois / Soleil rare". After these essential observational tours, the duo released their first proper album, Carrément Carrément, in 2016, which soon made a name for itself in the sales charts.
