Born on September 8, 1991 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Neal Chatha is known professionally as The PropheC, an Indo-Canadian singer, songwriter and producer equally inspired by South Asian luminaries like A.R. Rahman and western popstars like Drake. He began singing aged five and after receiving professional training in Indian classical music, took his first dive into beat-making, writing his first song, “Sohni," in 2010 while still at university. The following year, The PropheC dropped his debut studio album, Forever, and in 2012 he launched his label PropheC Productions, self-releasing his 2013 mixtape The Dream Room. That same year he marked the beginning of a fruitful collaborative partnership with Punjabi fusion star Mickey Singh, with the pair working on "Dukh" together. He went to release four more albums, Futureproof (2014) – which gave him his first Top 10 hit on Billboard’s World Albums chart – The Lifestyle (2016), The Season (2019) – the same year he both produced and sang on Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala’s hit single “Sohne Lagde" -and Solace (2021).
