The Wind And The Wave consists of Dwight A. Baker, former singer/guitarist with Texas indie pop-rock band Soldier Thread, and singer/guitarist Patricia Lynn Drew. The latter, owner of Matchbox Studios in Austin, Texas, has worked behind the microphone with Alpha Rev, Brandi Carlile, Blue October and Bob Schneider. She has also written for Kelly Clarkson. The duo debuted in summer 2013 supporting Bob Schneider and almost immediately signed to a major label, in this case RCA Records, which released their debut album From The Wreckage the following year. A few months later, The Wind And The Wave received unexpected exposure when their cover of the British alternative rock band Snow Patrol's "Chasing Stars" was featured in an episode of season 11 of the hit American series Grey's Anatomy. The duo entered the sales charts on both sides of the Atlantic and signed with Island Records in 2016.
