Theresa Fu

The Cantopop singer Theresa Fu was born in Hong Kong on September 22, 1984. She began her career in 2002 as a member of the Cookies, appearing on five of the group's recordings — including the 2002 debut album Happy Birthday, as well as 2003's All The Best and 2004's 903 California Red: Eleven Fires Concert — until the Cookies announced their indefinite hiatus in 2004. The group had officially disbanded by 2005, and Theresa Fu launched her solo career later that same year with "自欺欺人" (also known as "Hurting Yourself, Hurting Others"), a duet with Alex Fong that appeared on his album Be Good. She teamed up with Alex Fong once again for the collaborative single "Drifting Between Calm and Passionate." Also featuring Stephy Tang, the song was released in 2006 as part of LOVE 06, a collection of contemporary Cantopop love songs. At the same time, Theresa Fu's reputation as a film and television actress hit a new peak, with the entertainer starring in six movies — including Love @ First Note, Marriage with a Fool, and McDull, the Alumni — in 2006 alone. One year later, she released her debut EP, My Cup of T, with Gold Label Records. Smiling followed in 2008, with Dearest and Metamorphosis arriving in 2009 and 2010, respectively. She reappeared a decade later under a new name, Fu Ying, and scored a hit with 2021's "寫給無情人的情書," which peaked at Number 11 on the Mandarin charts.
