Experiencing the ups and downs of life is essential for country singers and overcoming adversity provides the lifeblood for their songwriting inspiration. In the case of Trace Adkins he has received more than his fair share of inspiration from family tragedies to battles with alcoholism. With a rich seam of melancholy to tap into it's little wonder Adkins became a successful country singer accruing numerous Grammy nominations, a host of Country Music Awards and a string of hit albums to his credit. He also enjoys a successful parallel career as an actor and regularly appears in film and TV. Adkins started his professional career quite late, recording his first single 'There's a Girl in Texas' in 1996 at the age of 34. It reached the top 20 and his debut album 'Dreamin' Out Loud' released later that year produced a number of hit singles. Adkins has subsequently become a consistently popular performer, both as a musician and as an actor, with single 'Jesus and Jones' - his first single released under Wheelhouse Records - charting at number 41.
