The American singer known as Two Feet was born Zachary William Dess in Manhattan, New York in 1993. He began his musical career playing jazz and blues in various groups in and around the city until eventually launching himself as Two Feet. His self funded debut single 'Go F*** Yourself' went viral online and prompted Republic Records to sign him to their label. With the backing of Republic the single was a surprise hit reaching number 35 on Billboard's Hot Rock Songs Chart. His follow-up single 'I Feel Like I'm Drowning' reached number one in the Alternative Songs Chart and rose to number 12 in the US Rock Charts. In keeping with the singer's penchant for offensive titles, he named his debut album ' A 20 Something F***' but the follow-up singles lifted from the album failed to make an impression on the charts. Dess has a history of depression and drug abuse and this imparts a dark quality into his music. Evidence of the difficulties the singer has experienced was apparent when he posted a very public suicide note on Twitter in August 2018 which resulted in the singer being hospitalised and the cancellation of scheduled appearances.
