South Korean–Chinese quintet Uniq, was formed in Seoul, South Korea, in 2014. Comprising Zhou Yixuan, Kim Sung-joo, Li Wenhan, Cho Seung-youn, and Wang Yibo, the group initially trained with YG Entertainment for five years before making their debut under Yuehua Entertainment. Their debut performance aired on South Korea's M Countdown on October 16, 2014, introducing their first single, "Falling In Love," on October 20, with the English adaptation following on November 5. Uniq's early days saw them featured in the soundtracks for movies like "Born to Fight" from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and “Celebrate" for the Chinese release of Penguins of Madagascar, announcing their first mini-album, EOEO in April, 2015. Their performance of "Listen to Me" at the KU Music Asian Music Awards marked their official return, earning them the Best New Artist award. Their mini-album reached number 7 in Korea, with the title single climbing to number 16 on the Billboard US World Charts. Their follow-up track, "Luv Again," marked the release of their official music video, earning them their first music show award on CCTV's Global Chinese Music chart. Expanding their reach, the group held their debut showcase in Japan, releasing "Erase Your Little Sadness" in December 2015 and Japanese single album, Falling in Love, the following year. In January 2017, their single "Happy New Year 2017" became their most commercially successful, reaching number 4 on the Chinese Billboard charts, releasing "Never Left" and "Next Mistake," in 2018 before going on indefinite hiatus, while members pursued individual projects. On the 6th anniversary of their debut, group member Yixuan dedicated the song "Remember That Day When We" to Uniq and their devoted fan base, releasing the track on October 16, 2020.
