Born in 1986, Valer Sabadus grew up in his native Romania before moving to Munich, where he studied violin and piano. It was in singing, however, that he discovered his vocation at the age of seventeen. His countertenor tessitura enabled him to envisage a career as a soloist after his studies at the August Everding Theater Academy. He took part in the recording of Leonardo Vinci's opera Atarserse, published in 2012, alongside Philippe Jaroussky, and produced recitals devoted to Hasse, Mozart and Caldara for the OEHMS Classics label. He is also a member of the "supergroup" The Five Countertenors, which released its debut album in 2015.
