Ventino are a Colombian girl band who began life as a group of friends performing covers of pop standards by various artists. The two founding members Camila Esguerra and Natalia Afanador uploaded their first collaboration to YouTube in 2014, a mash-up version of 'Chandelier' by Sia combined with 'Diamonds' by Rihanna. The catalyst for turning professional came when friend Juan David Muñoz encouraged the five members of the band to record mash-ups of a variety of Disney Princess songs. The video, titled 'Disney Princess Mashup', accrued more than a million views within a month of its launch and encouraged the girls to adopt Muñoz as their producer and mentor. During the next 12 months they continued to upload songs and eventually the group were signed by Sony Colombia. Through their YouTube exposure the group's popularity had grown to such an extent that when they released their debut single 'Me Equivoque' the accompanying video reached more than 95 million views. Ventino's debut album 'Ya Es Navdad' was released in 2017 and the self-titled follow-up album came out a year later in 2018.
