in 2012, Florian Claus, Stefan Raaflaub, Korbinian Arendt, Christian Schild, Michael Hartinger and Julian David came together as the vocal ensemble Voxxclub to create folk pop music. They wanted to renew the genre and give the scene a more contemporary feel. To do this, they used more modern sounds and sometimes distorted guitars. The band also broke new ground lyrically and did not stand for rather conservative values, as is often the case in folk music, but instead presented themselves as cosmopolitan and consciously tolerant. They became famous in 2013 with a music video for their reinterpretation of the Alpenrebellen song "Rock mi", in which they staged a flash mob in a Munich shopping center. Their debut album Alpin was released in the same year and went platinum in Germany and Austria. They also won a Smago Award in the Shooting Star of the Year category. With their second album Ziwui (2014), they were able to confirm the hype a short time later and even improve their chart positions. julian David left the band in 2015 and subsequently worked on his solo career as a presenter and actor. The albums Geiles Himmelblau (2016) and Donnawedda (2018) also landed reliably in the top 10 in Germany and Austria. One of the most successful releases was the single "I mog di so". At the Oktoberfest 2019, the song "Anneliese" was one of the most frequently played songs. in 2020, their fans had two things to look forward to: the fifth Voxxclub album Wieder dahoam was released and their first best-of compilation Rock mi - Die größten Hits was released, including popular classics and new remixes.
