Originally from Guadeloupe, WeRe-VaNa, whose real name is Evariste-Pierre Geoffroy, comes from a family of gwoka musicians. As a child, he attended numerous concerts and saw his passion for music grow over the years. WeRe-VaNa adds its reggaeton and dancehall influences to gwoka, a musical genre that is widespread in Guadeloupe. With his early compositions resonating locally, the young artist decided to persevere and record a namesake debut album with collaborations from Methi's and Misié Sadik. Released in 2017, WeRe-VaNa generated a buzz thanks to social networks and made its author known in mainland France, so much so that in 2019 he offered a reissue, enriched with several tracks, including a duet with Warped and several instrumental tracks. In 2020, he joins the Play Two label, home to artists such as Gims, Vitaa, Aya Nakamura and MC Solaar. In 2021, he returned with a new opus entitled Îles et Elle, featuring tracks such as "Casanova", "Cache-cache" and "Bombardé". The album features contributions from a host of artists including Zaho, Gato, Naza, Mel, René Geoffroy and T Kemp Gee.
