Formed in Austin, Texas, in 2006, the White Denim quartet is renowned for its resolutely independent rock with garage rock and psychedelic influences. Discovered in Europe with their debut album Workout Holiday (2008), the band led by singer and guitarist James Petralli (aka Bop English) has built a strong reputation, crowned by the critical success of their fourth opus, D (2011). After Corsicana Lemonade (2013), produced by Jeff Tweedy, changes are made: guitarist Austin Jenkins and drummer Josh Block join singer Leon Bridges' band. James Petralli and Steven Terebecki recruit Jonathon Horne and Jeff Olson for the following album Stiff (2016), produced by Ethan Johns. In 2018, a new quartet including Michael Hunter and Conrad Choucroun records the eighth album Performance. After touring, the studio album Side Effects and the live album In Person are released in 2019. While a new production was planned, the Covid-19 pandemic put an end to the project. White Denim finally returned in 2021 with the Crystal Bullets / King Tears album, followed by a collaboration with Raze Regal for Raze Regal & White Denim Inc. (2023). In 2024 follows the album 12.
