Born Wilson Abubakar Radido in Kasarani, Kenya on September 1, 1993, the Narobi-based gospel and pop singer/songwriter is better known by his stage name Willy Paul. He achieved success with a series of singles beginning in 2010 with “Rabuka” in 2010. His debut album, You Never Know, was released in December 2013. The album included “Lala Salama”, “Kitanzi”, “Mpenzi”, and the title track. Based on the success of the album, he was named Male Artist of the Year at the 2013 Groove Awards. In 2014, he achieved success with the single “Sitolia”, performed with Gloria Muliro. Paul then toured the United States, playing churches in 12 states. Back in his homeland, he continued to release hit singles including “Tam Tam” featuring Size 8 (2014), which earned several award. Other hits include “I Do” featuring Alaine (2017), “Nijwa” featuring Nandy (2018), “Sikireti” featuring Cecil (2018), “Hallelujah” featuring Nandy (2019), and “Mmmh” featuring Rayvanny (2019). Thanks to his continued success, Paul was able to set up a foundation in Kenya which helps children gain access to education and healthcare.
