An unsuccessful contestant on the Nouvelle star TV show, which nonetheless revealed his talent in 2008, author, composer and performer Ycare (born Assane Attyé in Dakar, Senegal, on September 21, 1983) bounced back with his debut album Au Bord du Monde, released the following year to great acclaim (ranked no. 21). The following album, Lumière Noire (2011), consolidated his audience (No. 30) and placed him among the talents to watch of the new generation of songwriters. In 2014, La Somone (no. 47) places Ycare in a movement combining chanson, pop and rock. Two small formats of new tracks followed a few months apart: Hiver 2015 and Été 2016, followed by a first live album, Un Tour Sans Fin (2016) and a fourth album entitled Adieu Je T'Aime (2018). The singer and guitarist followed this up in 2019 with a duet with Axelle Red, "D'autres que nous", ranked No. 14 in Belgium, and in 2022 with the album Des Millions d'Années (No. 62), featuring guest appearances by Amel Bent, Zaz, Joyce Jonathan, Patrick Fiori, Madame Monsieur, Ibrahim Maalouf and Tiken Jah Fakoly, among others. A year later, Nos Futurs (no. 41) returned to the same formula, with new guests Patrick Bruel, Garou, Claudio Capéo, Gauvain Sers, Anne Sila, Salvatore Adamo, Mentissa, Slimane and Clara Morgane.
