Winner of the prestigious first prize at the Frédéric Chopin Competition in 2000 at just eighteen years of age, keyboard prodigy Yundi Li (born in Chongquing in 1982) is following in Lang Lang's footsteps. As soon as he was signed by Deutsche Grammophon, the Chinese pianist devoted several recitals to the Polish composer, both in concert and on disc (two florilegios in 2002 and 2005, the Nocturnes in 2010). Acclaimed in the greatest concert halls, Yundi Li follows a busy schedule, recording concertos by Chopin, Liszt, Prokofiev and Ravel in 2007 and 2008. Two programs devoted to Beethoven, released in 2013 and 2014, precede Chopin's Preludes (2015) and Ballades, Berceuses and Mazurkas (2016).
