Yuya Matsushita, born on May 24, 1990, is a versatile Japanese artist known for his singing and acting skills. Originally a member of the music group X4 from 2015 to 2020, Yuya has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry both as a solo artist under the name YOUYA and as a group performer. His career took off after being discovered by Jin Nakamura, a renowned producer known for his work with top Japanese artists, leading to Yuya's signing with Epic Records in 2008. His debut single "foolish foolish" was released in November that year, marking the start of a promising solo career. Yuya's artistic talents extend beyond music into acting, with his film debut in "Kanashii Boyfriend" in 2009 and a notable role in the NHK series Beppin-san. His involvement in various tribute performances, including a Michael Jackson tribute event, highlights his range and appeal as a performer. In 2020, after the disbandment of X4 and the end of his contract with Teichiku Entertainment, Yuya relaunched his music career under the new stage name YOUYA, signaling a fresh start in his artistic journey. His return to solo activities was marked by the release of his single "Ghost" in November 2020 under his new artist name. In 2023, he joined the major entertainment company Amuse, expanding his career further into the entertainment industry. His notable releases are "Naturally" (2011), "SEE YOU"(2012), and "2U"(2012).
