The Brazilian folk duo Zé Neto & Cristiano was formed by two childhood friends, José Neto aka Zé Neto and Irineu Vaccari aka Cristiano who were both born in the Sao Paulo region; Neto in 1990 and Vaccari in 1988. They both participated in their local church music scene and have built a career based on performing Sertanejo style Brazilian acoustic folk music. The duo released their debut album in 2012 titled 'Entre Amigos' and the album featured a number of well-known Brazilian Sertanejo performers such as Cristiano Araújo, Humberto & Ronaldo, George Henrique & Rodrigo, Zé Ricardo & Thiago and Israel Novaes. Following the release of the album their fan base grew rapidly and the duo soon stopped playing small bars and clubs and progressed to more significant venues. A measure of their popularity is demonstrated by their 2016 single 'Seu Policia' which became the most-played single of that year on Brazilian radio stations. During their relatively short career the duo have become one of the most successful emerging talents from the genre of traditional Brazilian music.
