Kariyushi58 is a four-member Japanese pop group, formed in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan in 2005. The original lineup comprised high school friends Maekawa Shingo on vocals and bass, Shinya Yukihiro on guitar, and Nakamura Hiroki on drums. In 2008, they added a fourth member, Miyahira Naoki, also on guitar. The band's name is a blend of the Okinawan term "kariyushi," meaning "harmony" or "happiness," and 58, the number of a local Japanese National Route. The band's music combines elements of traditional Okinawan folk, rock, and reggae. They've achieved broad appeal across various age groups with their unique sound. Kariyushi58 made their official debut in February 2006 with a mini-album titled Koibitoyo. Later that year, they gained recognition by winning the Japan Wired Grand Prix Rookie of the Year Award for their single "Anma." Later in 2006, they released another mini-album titled Ujinouta. In 2007, the group released their EP Toteto, followed by their first full-length studio album, Soro-Soro, Kariyushi (2007). This album ranked number 1 on the Oricon Indies chart for two consecutive weeks. In 2009, the group released the album Deji, Kariyushi, followed by the compilation album Kariyushi58BEST in 2011. Over the years, they released several other albums, including Go (2012), Hachi (2013), and Bandwagon (2020).
