Acadian country band formed in 2005 in southeastern New Brunswick, Canada, featuring Alexandre Landry, Jean-Marc O'Brien, Maurice and Terry Melanson, and Raymond Cormier. Acajun kicked off their career by playing a number of festivals on the Acadian peninsula, in Quebec and on the Magdalen Islands. In August 2007, the band won the Choix du futur prize, awarded by Moncton radio station Choix 99.9 FM. This enabled them to record their self-titled debut album, released in April 2009. The songs " Le Chemin de chez nous ", " Le Frolic " and " Squeezbox " all reached number one on the French-language charts in Acadia. 2013 sees the release of their second opus, Un Air Frais . Three songs from it climb to the top of the Acadian country charts: " Grouiller sur le plancher ", " Me rendre en Louisiane " and " Pour longtemps ". Acajun disbanded in 2016.
