ADOY

Founded in Seoul, South Korea in 2017, Adoy is a South Korean indie-pop band formed by Oh Ju-hwan (vocals/guitar), Zee (synths), Park Geun-chang (drums) and Jung Da-young (bass/vocals). All four members were part of other bands that disbanded around the same time, but after experimenting together, the group identified a musical synergy, leading them to develop their unique, synth-driven style. Their first EP Catnip (2017), attracted a sizeable fanbase, with lead single “Grace” earning the band a nomination for Best Modern Rock Song at the 2018 Korean Music Awards. Maintaining their momentum, Adoy followed this with their second EP Love in 2018, achieving similar success before releasing their first studio album Vivid (2019) which peaked at number 36 on the Gaon chart, earning them the Judge Special Award at the Seoul Music Awards later that year. The group continued to finetune their synth-driven melodies and lyric writing throughout 2020, releasing dream-pop EP her in 2021, and embarking on a world tour in 2022.
