Agnès Jaoui

Agnès Jaoui was born in Antony, near Paris, in 1964. She studied singing at the Conservatoire before embarking on a prolific career in theater and film as a screenwriter, actress and director, notably in the couple she forms with Jean-Pierre Bacri(Un air de famille, Le Goût des autres). In 2006, she returned to song via flamenco and Fado for her debut album Canta. This return to her roots, crowned with a Victoire de la musique award in the world music category, was followed three years later by the album Dans Mon Pays, confirming Agnès Jaoui's attachment to Latin rhythms. Following her collaboration on the Rio - Paris project (2014), with Natalie Dessay and Helena Noguerra, the actress and singer recorded Nostalgias (2015), in which she sings in four languages (Spanish, French, Hebrew and Arabic).
